Most of the research about effectiveness of therapy has concluded that the therapeutic relationship is by far the most important element in successful therapy outcomes. Clients' needs in this regard vary greatly and often change over time. Of utmost importance is that the client feels safe, respected, understood and valued. Beyond this, some clients, perhaps like you, may know that they benefit from specific methods in their therapy such as confrontation, education, more or less direction, specific homework tasks or other approaches. I will work with you to ensure that your therapeutic relationship with me and the methods I employ maximize the likelihood of a positive therapeutic outcome.
